Back by popular demand, the "Bring and Buy" / " Buy & Sell" night is where you can sell and buy secondhand gear, even some new!
It's the time to find a box and fill it with all the gear you no longer use, the gear you are keeping "just in case" or the gear that is no longer used because you have newer and better gear.
Making secondhand gear available which is perfectly serviceable will help newer members build up their walking and hiking gear and get some useful tips from more experienced members. Of course, you may just want to come along and potentially "bag a bargain".
This time to get table space, you need to email Robert McPhee, the Vice President at vicepresident@brisbanebushwalkers.org.au, with the items you have for sale and your asking price. We will then know how many tables to set up. In addition, if you want to include a photo of each item we will send out a promo email before the meeting listing all the items for sale.
We will be setting up tables and space for those who have emailed me at 7.15pm when the Hall opens and buying and selling can begin at 7.30pm for 45 to 60 minutes whilst supper will be served at 8.15pm. Hall close 9pm.
NOTICE OF GENERAL MEETING
Members are advised that a General Meeting will be held on at 7.30pm on Wednesday, 8th May 2024, at the Newmarket Memorial Hall, corner Enoggera Rd and Ashgrove Avenue, Newmarket, in accordance with Rule 12, Honorary Life Membership.
The business of the meeting will be limited to the proposal that Member Mark Houghton be made an Honorary Life Member under Rule 12, his name having been submitted by ten ordinary members, other than management committee members, and approved by the management committee.
Only ordinary and life members may vote at the meeting, but all are invited to attend.

EQUIPMENT HIRE - PLEASE NOTE
Members interested in hiring gear for May are advised to email their requests to equipment@brisbanebushwalkers.org.au by 24th April, as both Cathy and Steve will be away for 3 weeks in May. If members need to hire gear, they will make special arrangements for early pickups and returns, to assist with provision of gear hire. Last minute requests for gear (from 2 May - 21 May) might not be able to be met.
